100 Objects to Represent University

100 Objects to Represent University was a Graphic Design program-wide charette inspired by Peter Greenaway’s project 100 Objects to Represent the World and the Voyager spacecraft’s Golden Record.
Students were asked to create and curate an exhibition of 100 objects to be displayed in the Contemporary Art Galleries that represent the idea of “university.” Each student was tasked with collecting five objects. With 97 students participating the collection quickly became enormous. After a week of discussion and debate a 99 objects were selected from among the hundreds collected. The 100th object becamse the “Salon de Refusé” of all the remaining unselected objects.
